About the event

Have you wondered what Juneteenth is all about? As the orator for the day, Corey the Talented Blind Guy leads the conversation on June 18 at Jamestown Settlement.  Corey and LaQuita Marie, co-founders of Atumpan Edutainment, engage participants in the exploration of the impact of melanin on world music, folklore, and dance.

Atumpan Dance Theatre opens the event with a drum call and traditional African libation ceremony. A variety of performers take the stage of the Robins Foundation Theater during this 90-minute program to interpret the theme “what freedom means” through song, dance, music, spoken word and dramatic readings.

Jamestown Settlement does charge admission and tickets can be obtained HERE
