Auditions for Harambe for the Holidays Kwanzaa Show

Each year, on the day after Christmas, Atumpan Edutainment produces Harambe for the Holidays; a Kwanzaa show that is presented as a stage play on December 26, 2019.  Actors, dancers, musicians, and inexperienced people are encouraged to audition.  No experience required, just have a willingness to learn and a team spirit.

GENERAL SHOW INFO:

This is a stage play with intermission.  The first half is an African folktale and the second half is a different folktale.  Kwanzaa principals are incorporated into the script and various music and dance styles are included (African, hip-hop, modern).  

The full production of the show at the Kroc Center is on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at 1:00pm and 6:00pm.

A daytime performance at the Kroc Center is on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 10:00am for school groups and community groups. 

Additional preview performances will be announced and do not include the full cast.

AUDITION INFO:

Arrive between 6:15pm and 6:30pm to check in

Group script readings:  6:30pm-6:45pm  Scripts will be given at the audition, readers will be expected to read in character after a brief explanation of the script

Group dance auditions:  6:45pm-7:15pm  Simple choreography will be given and dancers will showcase their abilities to follow 

Individual talent showcases:  7:15pm-8:00pm For persons wishing to showcase a song, musical instrument, or other talent, 2 minute time slots will be allotted. 

PAYMENTS:  No payments are necessary to be in the production, no payments/compensation are made for being in the production. This is a community theatre production.
