WEEKEND WORKSHOPS: DAY 2

With an abundance of animal characters in this year's Harambe for the Holidays Kwanzaa stage play, Ryan Clemens held a workshop to help actors characterize animals.  He brought in props and directed workshop participants through several theatre exercises to facilitate their animal characterization.  As Resident Teaching Artist for the Virginia Stage Company, Ryan was welcomed with the wild side of all in attendance.

  • This year: Ryan Clemens on Thursday, November 8, 2018; Kroc Center

Harambe for the Holidays is the largest Kwanzaa celebration in Hampton Roads that Atumpan Edutainment produces each year for the general public to enjoy at no cost.  It is a way for people to understand and enjoy Kwanzaa in the same way that they understand the other end of the year celebrations, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Year's.  The appealing part of the show is the community aspect as it brings together numerous community businesses, actors, and organizations in the true spirit of Kwanzaa.
