AUDITIONS for Harambe for the Holidays Kwanzaa Show
Atumpan Edutainment is producing another Kwanzaa stageplay at the Kroc Center's main theater on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. This year's cast will act, sing songs, and dance to explain Kwanzaa through the story Harambe for the Holidays (Harambe means to pull together).
To audition to act, sing, and dance with Atumpan Edutainment, you can register for Monday, October 15, 2018 from 7:00pm-8:15pm. The rehearsal schedule will be posted on the calendar at the Members Only page of AtumpanEdutainment.com and the audition schedule is as follows:
OPEN CALL

Please be prepared to read from the script provided, learn basic choreography, and sing 30 seconds of a song acapella or with music that you provide.

You will be notified by email of your audition results
AUDITION SCHEDULE

First 15 min: Complete audition forms, preview script.

Next 30 min: Large group auditions Start

Last 15 min: Vocal auditions. Members of Atumpan's ACT Dance Theatre will be given precedence *ACT Dance Theatre classes are 6:30-7:30pm, Fred Heutte Center Norfolk, VA if interested in enrolling for increased success
AUDITION GUIDELINES

Large group dance will be taught a song and dance then perform it in a large group.

Small groups of 3-4 people will learn a song and dance together, then audition together.

Small groups will also read portions of the script with an ACT Dance Theatre reader.

Judges are scoring each person individually.

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE

PERFORMANCES

Saturday, December 8, 2018 6pm - 10pm at Candlelight Holiday Celebrations Tryon Palace in New Bern, NC.

There will be 2, twenty-five minute performances of a portion of Harambe for the Holidays within that time frame; select performers only

Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at the Kroc Center.

There will be an onstage production of Harambe for the Holidays Kwanzaa (6:00pm-7:15pm) followed by food and retail merchants as well as photo opportunities with the cast.
